Organic Lawn Fertilizer

Having the perfect front yard, one that is lush, green and freshly manicured requires proper care in order to achieve that front yard perfection. The secret ingredient to this lies in organic lawn fertilizers.

Since organic lawn fertilizers are “slow-release” in nature, they are perfect for feeding those millions of tiny plants in your lawn. Slow release means that organic lawn fertilizers release their nutrients gradually over a period of time and not all at once. This is how they are, in effect, stretching the feeding or growing period of your grass. The nutrients in organic lawn fertilizers slowly release into the soil, and the roots of your plants seek them out, allowing them to carpet over the bare patches. This also effectively controls weed growth since they will no longer have a place for their seeds may germinate.

It's common knowledge that soil organisms are important to plant growth. They're just as important to grass life cycle as well. Without them, the nutrients naturally found in the soil and the atmosphere won't be of any use to the plant. It's the soil organism that breaks down nitrogen into nitrates which are essential for grass to grow, and provides the plant with carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and this prevents plant diseases.

Organic lawn fertilizers don't contain any chemical substances that might ultimately destroy these vital microorganisms in lawns. Therefore, organic lawn fertilizers don't suppress grass from growing as their synthetic counterparts do. Instead, organic lawn fertilizers encourage grass to not only grow but also keeps them healthy and vibrant.

There are other benefits to using organic lawn fertilizers and these include better soil aggregation and thatch reduction, thus ensuring a more efficient release of available grass nutrients. Organic lawn fertilizers can also improve atmospheric action in the soil, plant-related disease resistance, antioxidant hormone production and water infiltration. In addition, organic lawn fertilizers aid in increasing water and oxygen retention of grass, deepening their extensive turf root system, augmenting mycorrhizal associations, reducing soil “compact clumping”, and developing lawn density. All of these are achieved because of the organic lawn fertilizers’ capacity to encourage soil activity.

Manufactured organic lawn fertilizers have all three of the major nutrients needed by plants, which are nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Therefore, when you use organic lawn fertilizers, the presence of these nutrients helps ensure that plants get the required supply they need for growth.
