Your Own Bonsai Tree Garden

from: Lawn and Garden Magic

Bonsai are excellent works of art, however, a nice bonsai tree garden with an appealing setting will defy the bonsai’s traditional beauty. So how can you achieve such aesthetic qualities in your bonsai? Tips may seem rather complex, but they’re actually very easy to follow. And once you get the flow, a charming bonsai tree garden is not that hard to create at all.

Bonsai trees should be placed in visible areas to allow them to be seen more. Keeping them hidden in one corner will make them become dry. Generally, all bonsai need their fair share of sunlight and air. In fact, each part of the tree should be able to receive the needed dose of air and light, essential for a balanced growth.

Take a look at a couple of bonsai tree gardens and you will see that majority of them has certain degree of Japanese influence. A Japanese style bonsai tree garden greatly enhances the overall appearance of the bonsai tree collection. An oriental-inspired theme does not really have to cost a fortune.

Displaying the various bonsai trees at eye level through staging or by using a bench allows better viewing. These may also be made to sit on individual wooden plinths which are actually fencing posts made into separate tree stands. These are superb alternatives to the benching style and may also be used to showcase a single bonsai species or different groups. Japanese accessories like lanterns may be added to emphasize an oriental aura.

Plants are the major elements in the Japanese style bonsai tree garden. That is why, if you can squeeze in some more types of bonsai, make sure you grow the following as well: maples, pines, and bamboo. These types are considered as the architectural plants whose appeal stay so all throughout the year.

Stepping stones are great additions to your bonsai tree garden. These are not only functional but are ornamental as well. Positioning these well provides a pathway that is naturally-looking. Even if these stones are man-made, they're highly realistic. Furthermore, stepping stones come cheap and are readily available in gardening shops.

Your bonsai tree garden can use some charming finishing touches. These extra details may not be necessary for some but these can actually give the most impact to you collection. From grass, to dragons, to Buddhas, your bonsai tree garden should definitely have room for one.
