Weed Out Those Dang Weeds

from: Lawn and Garden Magic

Weeds are an ongoing problem for homeowners trying to maintain a good looking lawn that gets the correct amount of nutrients that enables it to grow and thrive. Weeds can overwhelm any yard if it isn't properly maintened. Therefore, you should know everything you can about dealing with weeds. Once you understand the major problems your lawn has to deal with regarding weeds, it's easier to get rid of the weeds so your lawn can grow better.

Broadleaf weeds. These are the top type of weed found in lawns and they are able to take over a yard by stealing the good soil and water from your plants. Some appear every year, with new roots forming in the same place, even after you've removed them. These seeds spread quickly and can be found in almost every lawn. If broadleaf weeds aren't dealt with, they could kill all of your grass. But there are several other types of weeds that will try to invade your lawn as well.

Growing and spreading of weeds. A major difficulty regarding weeds is how easily they reproduce. Once a single weed makes it's home in your lawn, others will start to spring up around it. Thus it gets more difficult to control these weeds once they've started growing. Even after you pul them out, you'll likely leave behind several seeds or roots which alloows the weeds to grab the nutrients from a lawn to use for their own growth.

Hidden Weeds. Sometimes, it's difficult to observe certain weeds in your lawn. Some weeds can thrive without ever being noticed, so they're able to grow and spread throughout the lawn, which could causd major problems. You should therefore take the time to try to discover hidden weeds growing in your grass. If you don't these weeds will continue to grow and suck up the nutrients your grass needs to survive.

Of course, since weeds can cause a lot of problems you are going to use different methods to get them, starting with identifying the type of weed you dealing with. Some types should be eliminated during specific times of the year which means you can determine they'll never come back. The next step is to find the best weed eliminator for your yard. You can use fertilizer or a spray get the weeds out. Or you can spend time manually pulling the weeds out from their yard, but make sure you get out the roots to ensure you're eliminating them completely.

If weeds do take over your yard, it's usually the result of them stealing the nutrients and water from your grass. This means your grass won't be as green as it should be and will turn brown, and eventually die while the weeds just get healthier. So find those dang weeds before they get too big if you want a healthy lawn.

Proper maintenance and an understanding of the type of weeds you're dealing with are the best ways to eliminating your weed problem altogether.
