Garden Weeds are Dangerous
from: Lawn and Garden MagicHaving weeds invade your garden is always a major concern of any gardener. Weeds will destroy the optimal conditions of the garden, essential conditions for maintaining the healthy growth of your plants. Weeds in the garden can actually be dangersous, especially if they're allowed to grow rapidly over a wide area.
Containing the growth of garden weeds is a necessary task since they're your garden plants' worst enemies. If left unchecked, weeds will easily and quickly decimate any garden.
So why are garden weeds considered dangerous? Here why:
* Weeds steal essential nutrients from your plants reqire and weeds are aggressive feeders. They'll assertively compete for each drop of beneficial substance produced by the garden soil. Your plants are helpless because the weeds out number them by far. It's hardly a fair fight.
* Weeds create a breeding for pests that are perilous for your garden. These pests will infest your garden just as quickly as the weeds and eat your plants' leaves, making them less appealing or damaging them beyond use. They'll also eat, and worse, breed, on your flowers and the fruits of your plants. Some pests can attach to the roots of your plants, which directly affect their lifespan. Some pests will spoil the soil, making it uninhabitable for your plants.
* Pests are not the only creatures that can breed in areas heavily populated with weeds. Animals perilous for humans can also make such an area their home such as snakes, scorpions who love to make their homes in areas with dense and tall weeds.
* Weeds certainly do reduce the beauty of your lawn and garden. If allowed to grow tall, they'll take away the focus from your plants, so much so your plants might appear to be a mere afterthought.
There is no choice in the matter, lawn and garden weeds must be contained and eliminated at the earliest signs of an invasion. By taking preventive measures, your garden and lawn will thrive and make you proud.
