The Public Garden Fountains

The Public Garden Fountains Water fountains were originally practical in function, used to deliver water from rivers or creeks to cities and hamlets, providing the inhabitants with clean water to drink, bathe, and prepare food with. In the days before electrical power, the spray of fountains was driven by gravity alone, commonly using an aqueduct or water source located far away in the nearby mountains. The appeal and wonder of fountains make them ideal for historic memorials. Rough in style, the first water fountains didn't appear much like contemporary fountains. The very first recognized water fountain was a natural stone basin created that was used as a container for drinking water and ceremonial purposes. 2,000 BC is when the earliest known stone fountain basins were originally used. The spray of water appearing from small spouts was pressured by gravity, the lone power source builders had in those days.Public Garden Fountains 85408719.jpg Drinking water was delivered by public fountains, long before fountains became elaborate public statues, as attractive as they are functional. Wildlife, Gods, and Spiritual figures dominated the early ornate Roman fountains, beginning to appear in about 6 BC. The extraordinary aqueducts of Rome supplied water to the eye-catching public fountains, most of which you can visit today.

Back Story of Fountains

Back Story of Fountains Pope Nicholas V, himself a learned man, reigned the Roman Catholic Church from 1397 to 1455 during which time he commissioned many translations of ancient classical Greek documents into Latin. In order to make Rome deserving of being the capital of the Christian world, the Pope resolved to embellish the beauty of the city. Restoration of the Acqua Vergine, a ruined Roman aqueduct which had transported fresh drinking water into the city from eight miles away, began in 1453 at the behest of the Pope. A mostra, a monumental celebratory fountain constructed by ancient Romans to mark the point of entry of an aqueduct, was a tradition which was restored by Nicholas V. At the bidding of the Pope, architect Leon Battista Alberti undertook the construction of a wall fountain in the place where we now find the Trevi Fountain. Changes and extensions, included in the repaired aqueduct, eventually supplied the Trevi Fountain and the well-known baroque fountains in the Piazza del Popolo and Piazza Navona with the necessary water supply.

The Multiple Types of Wall Water Fountains

The Multiple Types of Wall Water Fountains You can find peace and quiet when you add a wall fountain in your backyard or patio. You can have one made to suit your requirements even if you have a minimum amount of space. The necessary components include a spout, a water basin, internal tubing, and a pump regardless of whether it is freestanding or secured. There are many different styles available on the market including traditional, contemporary, classical, or Asian.

Normally quite large, freestanding wall fountains, also known as floor fountains, have their basins on the floor.

A wall-mounted water feature can either be integrated onto a wall already in existence or fitted into a wall under construction. The appearance of your landscape will seem more unified instead of disjointed when you put in this style of fountain.
