Garden Water Fountains And Their Role in Public Health

Garden Water Fountains And Their Role in Public Health Berkley, CA residents voted for a sugar-sweetened beverages tax in February 2014, the first of its kind in the United States. By taxing sugary drinks, the city hopes to encourage a lot more people to go with healthier choices, such as water. Research was performed to find out the status of local drinking water fountains and whether people from different racial or financial backgrounds had less access to them. Important information on the city’s drinking water fountains were pulled together using a GPS created specifically for the research. The US Census Community Study database was employed to compile information related to race and economic status in these segments. Evaluations were made between the location and demographic data, disclosing whether class differences affected availability to clean, working water fountains. Each water fountain and the demographics of its nearby area were reviewed to reveal whether the location of the fountains or their standard of maintenance demonstrated any link to income, race, or other points. The fact that the fountains were operating was not a guarantee that they were well-maintained, considering quite a few were in need of cleaning and repair.

But before focusing on home-life or having the occasion to think about domestic architecture or decoration, the Normans had to subjugate an entire population. Monasteries and castles served different functions, so while monasteries were enormous stone structures constructed in only the most productive, wide dales, castles were set upon blustery knolls where the occupants focused on learning offensive and defensive practices. Gardening, a placid occupation, was unfeasible in these fruitless fortifications. Berkeley Castle is most likely the most intact model in existence today of the early Anglo-Norman style of architecture. The keep is said to date from William the Conqueror's time period. A significant terrace serves as a discouraging factor to invaders who would attempt to mine the walls of the building. On one of these terraces sits a charming bowling green: it is coated in grass and flanked by an old yew hedge that is created into the shape of rough ramparts.
